ROUTE CARD​

1.1 Add a Route Card:​

Add a Route Card - Step-by-Step

Step 1: Reach the Route Card Section

  • From the main Side menu, click on Production & Quality -> Operations -> Route Card.This will open the Route Card Search page.

Step 2: Adding a Route Card

  • On the top-right corner of the Route Card page, click the "Add Route Card" button.

Step 3: Fill in the Details

note

All fields with a (*) are mandatory, so remember to fill them all.

  • Part[Dropdown][Mandatory] - Select the required Part from the dropdown list.The selected Part determines the associated Control Plan and Final Inspection details.

  • Final Inspection Number[Dropdown][Mandatory] - Select the approved Final Inspection Number.Only approved inspection records will be available for selection.

  • Control Plan Number [Text Field][Mandatory] - Displays the Control Plan Number linked to the selected Part.This field is system-generated and cannot be modified.

  • Lot Quantity[Text Field][Mandatory] - Displays the approved lot quantity for the selected Final Inspection record.This field is automatically populated.

  • Route Card Number [Text Field][Mandatory] - Enter or verify the Route Card Number.The Route Card Number should be unique.

  • Route Card Date [Text Field][Mandatory] - Select the Route Card creation date.

  • Heat Code [Text Field][Mandatory] - Enter the Heat Code or batch reference number if applicable.

  • Remarks [Text Field][Optional] - Enter any additional information related to the Route Card.

1.2 Search Route Card​

Search for a Route Card – Step-by-Step

Step 1: Start Searching​

On the Route Card Search page, you can search using the following filters:

  • Part - Control Plan [Dropdown]
    Select the part and control plan combination.

  • Route Card Number [Text Field]
    Enter the route card number if you already know it.

  • Route Card From Date [Date Field]
    Select the starting date for the search range.

  • Route Card To Date [Date Field]
    Select the ending date for the search range.

  • The default search range opens from the first day of the current month to today.

Step 2: Search or Clear​

  • Click Search to view matching route cards.
  • Click Clear to reset the filters and remove the result list.

Step 3: Review the Results​

The results grid shows:

  • S.No
  • View
  • Generate Route Card
  • Route Card Number
  • Date
  • Final Inspection Number

Step 4: Use the Quick Filter​

  • The results table includes a text search box above the grid.
  • Use it to filter the visible rows on the page.

  • At least one search criterion must be present before the search can run.
  • The date fields work as a range, so the From Date cannot be after the To Date and the To Date cannot be before the From Date.
  • If no records match the search, the system shows a message indicating that no route cards were found.
  • After a successful save, the system remembers the new route card number and automatically re-searches it when the search page reloads.

1.3 Edit Route Card​

Edit an Route Card – Step-by-Step​

Step 1: Find the Route Card

  • Go to the Route Card Search page and locate the record you want to edit using the filters.

Step 2: Start Searching

  • Click Search to display results.

Step 3: Edit Details

  1. Search the required Route Card.
  2. Locate the record in the Results grid.
  3. Open the Route Card using the View/Edit option.
  4. Update the required information.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Cancel - Discards changes and returns to the previous screen.

Step 4: View-Only Rules

  • The Submit button is disabled on saved records.
  • The screen shows a message indicating that it is a view-only page.
  • Saved header and process values are not editable from this page.

Step 5: Generate Route Card PDF

  • In the search results grid, click the Generate Route Card button.
  • The system downloads a PDF copy of the selected route card.

Step 6: Download Validation

  • If the PDF cannot be generated for the selected record, the system shows a message that no Route Card PDF is available for the input.

Step 7: Attach a File

7.1 File Upload Section​

The file upload area is shown on the saved route card screen.

Users can:

  • browse for a file
  • upload the selected file
  • download the uploaded file name if they have download access

7.2 Upload Rules​

  • Only PDF files are accepted.
  • Maximum file size is 3 MB.
  • If the file is too large, the upload button is disabled and the user sees an error message.

7.3 Download File​

  • If a file has already been attached, its name appears as a clickable link.
  • Clicking the file name downloads the stored PDF.

  • Route Card Number duplicate check
    The system checks whether the route card number already exists before saving.
  • Missing Part
    If no part is selected, the user must select a part before submitting.
  • Missing Final Inspection
    If no final inspection is selected, the user must select one before submitting.
  • Quantity check
    For every process row, the sum of approved quantity, machining rejection quantity, and casting rejection quantity must equal the lot quantity.
  • Approved quantity check
    The approved quantity for a later process cannot be greater than the approved quantity of the previous process.
  • Route Card Prefix setup
    If the system cannot auto-generate the route card number, the user is prompted to update the Route Card Prefix in Organization Details.
  • No data message
    If no matching route cards are found, the system shows a no-data message.
  • PDF message
    If the PDF generation succeeds, the user receives a confirmation message.
